Guest Post: Grahame’s pictures of Orkney and Fair Isle

One of the most disappointing things for me about not making it to Scotland this year was not being able to see Skara Brae and the other neolithic sites of Orkney. Of course I was to have gone by ferry rather than sailing boat but this five thousand year old village is one of the finest in Europe and has long held a fascination for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to use Grahame’s photographs here but looking at them just means that I will have to re-double my efforts to get up there next year and bring back a set of my own.
